  • Job Overview

    The Innovation Manager is responsible for the development of the Keurig Dr Pepper new product pipeline and assisting in the development of the innovation strategy for some of its largest brands and categories. The Innovation Manager is also responsible for ensuring the existing base product portfolio keeps pace with evolving consumer needs. This person will report to the VP of Innovation. The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years progressive strategic thinking, competitive analysis, marketing, brand or product innovation experience. An MBA would be considered a plus. 

     

    Position Responsibilities

     

    1. Innovation Strategy: Assist in the development of near-in and long-term category, brand and white space innovation and renovation strategies for KDP aligned with KDP’s overall portfolio strategy.
    2. Analysis Lead: Responsible for on-going analysis supporting innovation initiatives. Leverage brand, industry and consumer information resources, and partner with insights and strategy teams to monitor evolving consumer needs and identify business opportunities to achieve portfolio objectives. Share relevant category and consumer trends with key cross functional partners.
    3. Innovation Development - Lead and manage designated innovation initiatives. Identify key insights from consumer research and partner with innovation agencies as needed to develop concepts. Validate concepts through consumer research and cross functional input to build robust innovation pipelines. Develop product positioning and naming. Manage cross functional teams to deliver product within committed timelines. Develop internal communications for brand, sales and leadership to keep relevant stakeholders informed and integrate innovation into brand and corporate plans. Communicate objectives and timelines to ensure timely completion of key projects. Support commercialization team in development of financial model, marketing plans, post launch scorecard. Support marketing team in communications planning for innovation.
    4. Coaching & Influencing: Partner and provide direction to cross-functional and agency partners. Sell-in projects and strategies to the commercial and route-to-market partners and select retail partners.  
    5. Budgeting: Own and actively manage project specific budgets, cross-functional alignment, and end-of-year budget performance. Coordinate with team budget lead to research and adjust inappropriate budget entries.
    6. Project Leader: Drive broad team to ensure innovation projects are thoroughly tested, sized, scoped, and on time for commercial readiness.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • 5+ years of consumer marketing experience
    • Strong project management and influencing skills
